The Management Committee of the Office of the Vice President for Research, Planning and Quality Assurance approves the presented Research and Publication Program for PNU System. PO in collaboration with EPRDC proposed to intensify campaign for more faculty publication through the RPP with the following objectives: 1) RPP will be able to provide a Research and Publication program for all faculty and staff segmented into different stages and levels; 2) the program will offer venue for collaborative research and/or collaborative publication; 3) the program will orient all faculty and staff with the school policies on research and publication, rigors of developing proposals, industry research and writing for publication; and 4) RPP will afford a sustainable number of publication and research for better university metrics. This program supplements EPRDC’s Research Capability Program for the PNU System. Initial attempts to implementation generated several promises of draft articles from the hubs (PNU Visayas and PNU Mindanao).
Guidelines for the program implementation include:
- All faculty members should be part of research and publication program.
- Faculty members with completed research funded or subsidized by the University in terms of Non-teaching load or provisions for materials and supplies grant by the University are required to complete the Research and Publication program to ensure publication of the completed research.
- New faculty members and those who missed specific sessions will be required to watch the sessions in Publication Office’s live YouTube channel before attending the 2nd and the succeeding sessions.
- Faculty members who are intending not to attend these sessions should present an evidence of a successful publication for the current year.
- For the program implementation, the Associate Dean/Institute Director/Executive Directors and Provost or their faculty-assigned or faculty-in-charge may be identified to monitor the faculty activities under the research and publication program. He/she should directly submit to his/her immediate supervisor and to EPRDC all program updates specifically faculty activities in relation to the program.
- Monitoring Templates will be provided to all faculty-in-charge to facilitate accurate and updated monitoring of all research and publication activities of their respective faculty.
- Sessions should be simultaneously done per faculty in the Main Campus. Hubs will be provided a separate schedule. Faculty attendance to all sessions is the accountability of the faculty members and the Faculty, Institutes, or Campuses. Monitoring of attendance and attendees should be done by the faculty-in-charge.
